The survey was led by the JNCC and included a team from CEFAS who were involved in benthic sampling. A combination of surveys methods were employed, including seabed imagery (drop camera), day grabs and rock dredges. BGS collected sea floor multibeam bathymetry data using a Kongsberg EM3002D multibeam system. The multibeam data are archived by BGS. Technical details of the multibeam survey are contained in the BGS Report of Survey CR/12/100. The NLV Polestar is equipped with a Kongsberg EM3002D dual head, multibeam system. Data was acquired using the Kongsberg SIS operating system, logging raw .ALL files. This data was processed offline by BGS using CARIS HIPS and SIPS 7.1 SP2. For final bathymetric surface creation the survey was split into two distinct areas; A and B. Backscatter mosaics were created using Fledermaus GeoCoder FMGT, file type: .TIF. See Report of Survey CR/12/100 for further information.
