Triaxial apparatus was equipped with LVDTs, pressure transducers, an axial load cell, and miniature pore pressure transducers. These were all connected to a 'slow' acquisition system (1Hz) and a fast acquisition system (1kHz). In addition, an ultrasonic acquisition system was used for measuring of ultrasonic wavespeeds and recording of acoustic emissions during deformation, with continuous recording of the signal.
