Description of the handling of the sample before taking the data: After receiving the coal chunks, several 5 mm core plugs were extracted from the chunks and when then dried in a vacuum oven. The coring operation (drilling the coal plugs) was performed in a dry state, to make sure coal samples do not get exposed to water.
