Photographs document late Ediacaran fossil specimens within the collections of the Royal Ontario Museum. Each folder is arranged by broad locality (Flinders Ranges, Namibia, Newfoundland, NW Canada, Ukraine, and White Sea), and then by taxon. Taxa include Pteridinium and Swartpuntia (Namibia); Nemiana (Ukraine); Annulatubus, Sekwitubulus, Namalia and frondose taxa (NW Canada); and a host of Ediacaran taxa from Newfoundland, Australia and Russia, several of which are original or replica specimens of type material. Photographs are arranged such that the labels with locality information, identification, and accession number of individual specimens precedes images of those specimens. Photographs were taken to document fossil specimens, and to obtain images of type material for comparison to field-based specimens observed elsewhere. These images will be useful to geoscientists with an interest in Ediacaran macropalaeontology.
