Photographs document late Ediacaran fossil specimens within the collections of the South Australia Museum. Each folder is arranged by taxon. Taxa include Arborea, Aulozoon, Phylozoon, Beothukis, Bradgatia, Dickinsonia, Funisia, Ovatoscutum, Pambikalbae, Rangea, discoidal specimens, and images taken in the public gallery. Photographs are arranged such that the labels with locality information, identification, and accession number of individual specimens precede images of those specimens. Data result from NERC grant NE/L011409/2 Constraining the origins of the Metazoa: Insights from ichnology, palaeoecology and taphonomy. Photographs were taken to document fossil specimens, and to obtain images of type material of the taxa Funisia, Arborea, and Dickinsonia for specific projects. These images will be useful to geoscientists with an interest in Ediacaran macropalaeontology. Photographs were taken using either a Canon 6D camera, or an Olympus TG-Series camera, mostly using artificial lighting and a copy stand. Dr Alex Liu, University of Cambridge took all images. Dr Frankie Dunn (now Oxford University Museum of Natural History) was also present when these images were taken, and assisted with photography.
