The triaxial deformation apparatus was equipped with an axial load cell and displacement LVDT, and confining pressure was applied through silicone oil and monitored with a pressure transducer. The sample assembly in the triaxial apparatus was equipped with electrical lead-throughs to which were connected the pore pressure sensors. The apparatus was used in conjunction with an external pore pressure intensifier which monitored both pore volume and pore pressure. All data measured by the sensors were recorded with a LabView program on a single PC. Data was further analysed using scripts written in Julia coding language.
