British Geological Survey (BGS) Sampling Survey 1976/11: Bristol Channel (03/Jun/1976 to 23/Jun/1976)
This British Geological Survey (BGS) regional sampling survey took place in June 1976 in the Bristol Channel on board the RRS John Murray. The purpose was to gather data which could be used to map the regional geology of the area. Seabed samples and cores were collected using Shipek grab and gravity corer. These data are archived by BGS. Technical details of the survey are contained in BGS Internal Report ??.

Sample equipment types used included: Corer: Rock Gravity, Corer: Sediment Gravity and Grab: Shipek. Not entered was contracted to undertake the survey on behalf of British Geological Survey. For more detailed information on the acquisition equipment and data collection techniques, operational standards, data processing methods and quality control procedures used on this survey see the Report of Survey/Cruise Report and associated documentation where available.
