Geophysical equipment types used included: Airgun/Sleeve Gun, Deep Tow Boomer, Echo Sounder, Gravimeter, Magnetometer, Pinger, Sidescan Sonar, Sparker, Transit Sonar and Water Gun. The survey was undertaken by British Geological Survey. Positioning: Magnavox satellite navigation system integrated with MX610/MX600 doppler sonar and Arma Brown Mk I Mod 5 gyro compass Decca Mk 21 main chain receiver - optional inegration with the above. Echo sounding: Atlas Deso 10 echo sounder with hull mounted transducers (33 and 210 kHz) and Edig 10 digitiser unit Sonar systems: Kelvin Hughes MS47 transit sonar - hull mounted, port scanning UDI AS350 dual channel side-scan sonar with catamaran tow fish Recording on an EPC 3200 graphic recorder Seismic systems: Edo Western 248 pinger: 3.5 kHz, 10kW transducer in tow-fish assembly. Used with TSS Model 302 swell filter. Recording on EPC 4600 graphic recorder Huntec Deep-tow Boomer: system with remote controlled winch, 2 x Krohn-hite bandpass filters. Huntec ST2 hydrophone. Recording on an EPC 4100 graphic recorder EG&G sparker system: up to 5kJ capability, one 3-element and 1 5-element spark array. Krohn-hite bandpass filter, TSS Model 307 TVG amplifier. EG&G 263C x2 hydrophones with Teledyne 7 channel (10m) in latter part of the survey). Recording on an EPC 4600 graphic recorder Air gun system: Bolt 600B, two guns with standard (1-40cubic inch) range of chamber sizes, Krohn-hite bandpass filter, TSS Model 307 TVG amplifier. Geomecanique 30m hydrophone (also a Geomecanique 50m 3 section hydrophone used with the airgun and water gun). Recording on an EPC4600 graphic recorder. Water gun system: Sodera Mica-T 80 cubic inch gun recording as for the air gun system. Gravitymeter: LaCoste and Romberg S75 air-sea gravity meter. World Wide land gravity meter used for base ties.
