In December 2001 BGS received notification that the AMF was closing down. The BGS copy has been and will continue to be updated to suit BGS needs, and BGS has full ownership of the entire product (BGS IPR Ref IPR/24-25 and IPR58-17). Note that Chartered Information Services took over the publication of the AMF thesaurus subsequent to the closure of the AMF, which they publish under the name GeMPeT.
