Interpreted Seismic And Well Data.
This dataset represents a project-based collection of seismic interpretations of 2D and 3D commercial seismic reflection data. These data are integrated in a relational database in ORACLE in a data model called OpenWorks. Well log data, stratigraphic, velocity and well and seismic location data are also held in the database. Data interpretations are held within project indices by interpreter. Interpretations include faults and lithostratigraphic horizons. All data are commercial-in-confidence and cannot be supplied to any third party without the explicit permission of the customer or supplier.

Either: (i) the dataset is made freely available, e.g. via the Internet, for a restricted category of use (e.g. educational use only); or (ii) the dataset has not been formally approved by BGS for access and use by external clients under licence, but its use may be permitted under alternative formal arrangements; or (iii) the dataset contains 3rd party data or information obtained by BGS under terms and conditions that must be consulted in order to determine the permitted usage of the dataset. Refer to the BGS staff member responsible for the creation of the dataset if further advice is required. He / she should be familiar with the composition of the dataset, particularly with regard to 3rd party IPR contained in it, and any resultant use restrictions. This staff member should revert to the IPR Section ( ipr@bgs.ac.uk) for advice, should the position not be clear.

Data were accumulated on installation of a Landmark Interpretions Workstation. Project based data acquisition is sporadic in frequency. Project datasets are complete unless the project is ongoing. The well database and cultural data are ongoing. Resolution of seismic track data is 250m sample point where data is decimated. Seismic profile data can be sampled at 4m secs intervals of 2 way time. Well log digital sampling can be every foot in depth. Data are logically consistent as supplied. Interpretation nomenclature is internally consistent per project but not consistent between projects.
