X-ray micro-tomography datasets of Ketton carbonate obtained at 5MPa and 323K - (a) Dry micro-core (b) Hydrochloric acid reacted micro-core
The datasets contains two sets of three dimensional images of Ketton carbonate core of size 5 mm in diameter and 11 mm in length scanned at 7.97µm voxel resolution using Versa XRM-500 X-ray Microscope. The first set includes 3D dataset of dry (reference) Ketton carbonate. The second set includes 3D dataset of reacted Ketton carbonate using hydrochloric acid.

The details of the sample preparation and fluid injection strategy can be found in Gray et al. (2018) Tomographic images with a size of 1014 x 1028 x 1000 voxels were acquired at a voxel size of 7.97 µm. A total of 2401 projections with an exposure time of 1.8 s were acquired over 180 degree rotation using 0.4X magnification for dry and reacted core sample. The 3D dataset of whole core was acquired by scanning top and bottom of the sample individually and stitched together using Avizo software. The total size after stitching 1014 x 1028 x 1767 voxels. The images were acquired in .txm format. These were then processed using Avizo software and converted to .tiff format.
