This material was then centrifuged in 50mL centrifuge tubes for 6 minutes at 4000rpm. Once the sample was spun down, the remaining clear water (checked for clarity) was poured off, with the sample being left to dry in a drying cabinet overnight. The remaining dried bullet shape sample was then split with a scalpel into the different size fractions. In this dataset, the VF and VC fraction were concentrated on. Particle distribution and particle size analysis was conducted by ImageJ software, using smear slides.
